Sunday Morning Coffee and Etsy - 03/01/09

Yep, this is how I feel this afternoon, as the large fluffy flakes descend yet again. 'Nuff said about that, ha ha... soooo, before I start shopping, I just want to take a moment to talk about a great Etsy Street Team that I am a member of: Team Wetsy. I am so happy and proud to be among such great artists and friends. If you want to find some fabulous work by these artists, type 'team wetsy' into the Etsy search engine, and make sure you have selected the 'Handmade Items: Tags, Titles' option from the dropdown box before you click the search button. You'll be amazed at the great things you find! Team Wetsy is a brand new Etsy Street Team, and we are having our first promotion this month: March Pot-O-Gold Madness. Come and join the fun and look for the Pot of Gold in participating shops!

Feeling like the snowman in the picture above, I have gone from dreaming about my garden to looking for my scarf and hat yet again!

In fact, the mix of gray sky with my bright purple crocus still valiantly blooming in the cold and snow are the same colors that you see on this beautiful hand-painted silk scarf named 'Moody Dutch Iris' by Morgansilk. Another scarf that I love in her shop is Royal Prauge with its rich color and design.

As one last bow to winter, today's Etsy finds are all yummy things made to keep your neck not only warm, but gorgeous, too. The first is the soft and cloud like felted scarf I found while exploring Wool Felting Art's shop this morning. Aptly named 'White Feather', this merino wool felted scarf looks soft as a cloud, and I'd love to be wearing it today.

Another example of touchable neck candy is from Enee Fabric Design's shop - a very spring like scarf called 'Daffodil' in soft blues and yellows. This scarf is made from soft faux suede. I love the feel of that material, can't stop fondling it when I wear it!

....or perhaps a gorgeous shade of purple (always a favorite in my book) such as the Dusky Plum Scarflette found in FeltInspired's great shop.

She also sells these cool little "geode" pincusions. They are made of layers and layers of wool which, after the felting process, are cut open to reveal color patterns unique to each one. What fun!

I think I'm going to hold on to visions of spring flowers by wearing one of these adorable little felted flower rings by Clever Kitty.

And lucky you if you have a baby whose toes you can keep warm with these clever (and warm looking) little Felted Flora Jane Baby Shoes, also from Clever Kitty's shop. Awwwwww, I want a pair!!
